We LOVE this time of year! The holidays are always such a great opportunity to spend time with family, friends, and of course, our horses! It is also time for presents – and let’s face it – who doesn’t love holidays presents!? Don’t know what to get the equestrian in your life? Or maybe YOU are looking to tell your loved ones about some great gift ideas for you, the horse lover?
We know our Christmas lists are always brimming with requests to Santa all about riding, and one of the most fabulous places to start is the Horse & Style Magazine Holiday gift guide! That is where we found an adorable bit bracelet from Rebecca Ray in addition to SO much more…{SWOON}

Available for a limited time, this signature bit bracelet goes a little glitz. (Because even the most practical of us craves a little glitter and shine during the holidays. Most of us here at the farm crave it all year round 🙂 ) Supple platinum leather that seems to change in almost every light and coordinates with silver, gold and bronze.The best news? With the purchase of each Platinum Palomino Bit bracelet, $10 benefits Canter USA, a preeminent re-homing non-profit charity for retired racehorses. Perfectly presented for gift giving in a rustically elegant jewelry bag and box with ribbon. Most of our riders (and Caitlyn!) are absolutely obsessed with these cuff bracelets – throwing on a little equestrian chic detail with jeans or even feeling extra fancy in your show clothes is easy with this perfectly platinum piece! As we began making our lists and checking them twice, we sat down with our very Caitlyn Shiels to see what her favorite picks are for holiday shopping this year – equestrian style – and knew there was no better place to start than with with our AMAZING sponsors and the absolutely awesome products they offer!
Inspired by French riding coats from the 18th century, the O’Connor Spectator Coat by O’Shaughnessey is designed to be a staple for anywhere a fashionable equestrian might find herself – attending a horse show, a working lunch, watching a child’s lesson, running errands and more. Caitlyn loves the color and length of this gorgeous coat – and how effortlessly it can go from the barn to the city! There are few pieces in this collection that we don’t drool over. Love the coat? Samshield makes some pretty fantastic helmets – we LOVE ours – no more helmet headaches!!! But did you know they also make gorgeous AND functional riding gloves?! Caitlyn absolutely loves riding in her Samshield gloves, and says that the light weight flexibility and grip of the reins that she feels while wearing the gloves makes riding that much better!
Made of Ultra thin perforated lambskin leather, these gloves offer maximum comfort, airflow and lightweight. The Strong Suede fabric base fingerprinted with real silicone offers exceptional added grip, hand-to-horse connection, flexibility as well as extreme durability, and the strong version of Lycra offers extreme flexibility for a high end comfort and constant fitting. No horse lover’s “love list” is complete without the perfect pair of riding boots – and Tucci offers a line of custom made, traditional design equestrian boots. And they are to DIE for. Seriously. We have a pretty healthy obsession for all things Tucci here at Canterbury (Caitlyn has a gorgeous pair of navy boots on her xmas list!) Produced using Italian calfskin inside and out, with a back or front zipper, and hand-sewn leather and rubber soles. While the custom boots are made to fit, one of the best things about Tucci is that the ready to wear collection of boots also fits incredibly well, is available in various sizes (for those of us that have human size calves – we do ride after all!), and take very little time to break in (MAJOR bonus). They are available in any color, variation of style and personalization and are absolutely gorgeous. Additional information, including pricing can be found at Barrington Saddlery right here in Chicago
Beval Saddlery has spent the past 50 years dedicated to providing superior customer service, while designing innovative riding equipment and apparel.They are a true American Saddlery. Their experienced staff will gladly help you achieve the proper fit of saddles (we LOVE our Butet saddles from Beval!) , equipment, and clothing – and they have some FABULOUS holiday promotions happening this year!
Of course, sometimes the best gift for the horse person in your life can be supporting a local charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people and horses in your area – and we LOVE Illinois Horse Rescue of Will County! The Illinois Horse Rescue of Will County was founded to provide shelter and care for mistreated or abandoned horses and other animals. They provide shelter, food, and veterinary services for these animals until a suitable home can be found. As secondary services, they provide educational and therapeutic programs to local schools and charities with and about these animals – which is amazing, because by supporting this great organization you actually support multiple charities in the efforts to care for horses and animals in need. HOW super is that!?
We hope that your holiday season is both merry & bright – Happy Shopping friends!
